What is a Delta Faucet?
The Delta Faucet originated from a single handled faucet that mixes both hot and cold water with a ball valve. The product received its name, because it resembles the Greek letter “delta”. Nowadays, there are a lot more versions and different styles within the range of Delta products.
History of the Delta Company
The Delta Faucet Company has been around since 1952, founded by an Armenian immigrant, Alex Manoogian. Whilst he had owned other companies, this particular one was founded when he bought the rights of a faucet prototype designed by another eager inventor. Manoogian had seen the potential of this prototype and went on to develop the first successful washerless ball valve faucet. Manoogian marketed the faucets himself and now, to this day, all hardware and plumbing wholesalers stock this amazing invention.
By the 1970s Delta had expanded the line of faucets to include bathroom, kitchen, two handled washerless faucets, high arc spout and a variety of finishes. The Delta Faucet is now a household name and the Peerless line was then developed the enable homeowners to install their own fixtures.
What materials are they made from?
The Faucets are finished in a "Brilliance" brand coating that incorporate physical vapor deposition (PVD) technology. This surface coating technology is advanced because the product can now last two to eight times longer than uncoated products.
